Sprain is an injury which normally occurs in the ligaments. Sprain s are caused when the ligaments gets torn by stretching beyond their normal capability.

An efficient home therapy to cure sprain is onion. Slice two to three onions into smaller pieces. Drape the onion pieces with a perforated cloth preferably a cotton cloth. Dab the perforated cloth on the sprained portion for some two to three hours. For a week, follow this therapy for four to three times daily.
Massaging the sprained area with warm mustard oil is also an effective home therapy for sprain. After a lapse of few hours you can have a bath with lukewarm water.
Soak a towel in water that is ice cold. The sprained muscle should be tied with ice cold cloth. Because of the cold temperature, the muscles will get numb and removes the sprain…
Another useful remedy for sprain, is dabbing the sprained portion with Almond oil. Manufacture a mixture by taking two to three tablespoon of almond oil and garlic extract. Mix it in equal proportions. The sprained area should be massaged with this mixture. Adopt this therapy daily for three to four hours for up to 7 days.

Turmeric is one of the simplest and easiest therapy for sprain .This home remedy is still widely adopted in rural areas. Add turmeric measuring about 2-3 tablespoon to a glass of water or milk. Early morning on an empty stomach, consume this mixture.

You can also prepare a turmeric paste by mixing it with salt and lime. Applying the turmeric paste on the sprained area helps in relieving from sprain. Read the rest of this entry »

Migraine is a dreadful disease among all ages of human population. This disease amounts huge loss in the total man days in a country. So this is a high time to get to know about the foods that triggers migraine. If you avoid these foodstuffs, you won’t be suffered from Migraine.

Do avoid bananas, apples, onions, tomatoes, nuts and peanuts, citrus fruits, eggs, chocolate, dairy products. These foods are called as common trigger foods. Most of us know that coffee is the best beverage that will cure migraine immediately. Most of the migraineurs used to take coffee once they feel head ache because coffee contains caffeine. But this is worst triggers of migraine. Please avoid coffee. Even herbal tea is also not advisable.

Other foodstuffs that need to be avoided completely include apples, corn, onions, tomatoes, nuts and peanuts, wheat, meat, citrus fruits, eggs, chocolate, and dairy products (Yogurt, cheese, skim and whole cow’s milk, etc.)

Other worst triggers of migraine include nitrates, aspartame (Nutrasweet), monosodium glutamate, caffeinated drinks (Colas, tea and coffee) and alcoholic beverages (especially red wine).

Migraine is a problem that affects women, men, adults, elder people, children and even babies, a 2004 study suggested that there are almost 20 million migraine attacks happening every single day. Those numbers haven’t varied much during the last years. You should know about foods that cure migraine without any side-effects. I am discussing top ten diets that won’t create migraine - so these diets are called as “PAIN SAFE FOODS“-

1. The first and foremost thing that helps to cure migraine is “WATER“. Carbonated forms- Perrier can be used. If not, plain water plays an important role in pain management.

2. Dried non-citrus fruits like prunes, pears, cranberries, cherries, etc.

3. Cooked yellow vegetables like summer squash

4.Cooked orange vegetables like sweet potatoes or carrots

5. Cooked green vegetables, such as broccoli, spinach, Swiss chard, or collards,

6.Rice, especially brown rice.

7. Your diet should be supplemented with calcium, magnesium, etc. in consultation with your health care provider.

8. If you use condiments regularly in your diet, migraine won’t occur. The common suggested condiments include vanilla extract, maple syrup, and small quantity of salt.

9. Fever Few- This is available in most of the health food stores. It is nothing but a herb, which is used for the treatment of fever as well as migraine. It should be taken @ 250 milligrams per day or two to three fresh leaves.

10. Inclusion of 1/2 to 1 teaspoon (1 to 2 grams) of fresh powdered ginger per day helps a lot for the migraineurs. A study confirms that daily intake of ginger helps to get rid of migraine permanently.

Do consider these foods to cure migraine considerably. Most of the migraine sufferers prefer to adopt themselves with these foods that cure migraine. Why don’t you?
