Home Remedies for Asthma

airways are narrowed leading to cough, wheezing, chest tightness

Asthma
Roasted grams –
Eat some and drink a glass of milk every night before bed. This

Indian Goosberry
– prepare a paste with about 50g of banyan root and 250g
of gooseberry in honey. This paste taken in small amounts regularly
is an effective remedy for any kind of asthmatic attack.
Banana – Warm a ripe banana
on a slow flame and eat it with some black pepper sprinkled on it.
This is very effective in giving an immediate relief and also helps
to subside the asthmatic pains.
Tulsi leaves – sprinkle
black salt on some tulsi leaves and chew it. Tulsi leaves can also
be made into a paste and mixed with honey to provide a relief from
asthma and also help if you feel it is choking
Turmeric- make a fine powder
of old turmeric, and take two tablespoons of this powder with honey.
You would really wonder with this remedy as this works in most of
the cases.
Ginger lemonade – is very
effective in relieving asthma as well as reducing the incidence
of the attacks.
Taking a glass of warm milk with two tablespoons
of honey before going to bed will really help in keeping asthmatic
attack away.
Figs – is very effective
in clearing the respiratory tract and hence taking two to three
figs a day will be a very effective home remedy.
Copper - Place some water
in a copper vessel before going to bed and drink it in the morning
before having anything. This has been reported to reduce the congestion
in asthmatic people.Drumstick leaves - boil a cupful of water with
drumstick leaves, strain and add some salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Take this juice once or twice a day is an effective remedy for asthma.
Other things to be considered by asthmatic
patients:
Plenty of fluids, avoiding perfumes, allergen-free
material in your bedroom, use of vacuum cleaner to dust the room
instead of a broom, wearing a scarf around your mouth and nose during
cold weather and change the filter periodically if you have an air
conditioner will help in the day to day life of an asthmatic patient.
Have a regular habit of doing some breathing exercises that helps
to relax your respiratory tract.
