Home remedies for Obesity

Obesity is the physical condition which the present generation has automatically gained due to their inclination towards fast foods, high calories snacks and bottled drinks. The closets in our home provide us with very effective home remedies for obesity to start with.

Any person with a weight 20% above their normal body mass index is considered to be obese. There is increase in the number of fat cells throughout the body especially around the waist line. Obesity is the major contributor to the common health problems including blood pressure, high cholesterol, storke, osteoarthritis etc.

Lime juice-Honey

Mix a cup of lukewarm water with lemon juice from half a lemon and two spoons of pure honey. Consume this combination every morning on empty stomach for 2 to 3 months. This is natural and effective remedy for obesity. It is to note that only lemon juice actually increases the fat.

Cabbage

Cabbage contains the valuable chemical tartaric acid that inhibits the conversion of sugar and other carbohydrates to fat. Substituting a meal with cabbage salad would be a very effective way to stay slim.

Jujube

Soak a hand full of jujube (Indian plum) leaves in water overnight and taken every morning on empty stomach. This if followed for a month is very beneficial remedy for obesity.

Tomato

Substitute your breakfast for a couple of months with one or two ripe tomatoes that supplies all essential elements every morning.

Finger millet (Ragi)

Ragi preparations slow down the digestion process and hence reduce the constant desire to eat. Ragi in addition being an effective remedy for obesity also supplies the essential nutrients like calcium, phosphorous, vitamin B1 and B2.

Celery

Celery due to its fibrous composition requires more calories to digest and hence is very helpful and effective in reducing the weight.

Other Suggested Home Remedies

-Mix roasted barley seeds powder with a little milk and honey. Make a small ball and take it as a breakfast.

-Add two tablespoonful of wheat bran in a glass of skimmed milk, add honey and consume it atleast once a day. The bran can also be taken with buttermilk.

-Mash a ripe banana in plain diluted cow’s milk and mix a tablespoon full of fresh banana flower juice during breakfast for a couple of month is an effective remedy for obesity.

-Two teaspoonful of honey with ten drops of tulsi leaf juice in water for a month is very helpful.

-A salad made of raw tomatoes, onion and the juice of a lemon is very effective for obesity.

-Horse gram 100 grams soaked overnight as a breakfast is also extremely helpful.

-Prepare salads and vegetables with mint. Mint is very beneficial in losing weight.

Do’s – meals at proper time, lots of fruits and vegetables, low calorie food, replacing whole milk with skim or low fat milk and regular exercise.

Dont’s- skipping meal, avoid too much salt, cheese, butter, chocolates, ice cream, sweets and avoid stress and tension.
