Home Remedies for Ringworm
Ringworm
is also called as Tinea. Ringworm may spread due
to direct or indirect contact as it is a contagious one. Home
remedies for ringworm help a lot to get cured without any
side effects.
The first advised step would be
to start on a balanced diet with special emphasis on seeds, nuts,
wholegrain cereals, salt free raw or lightly cooked vegetables and
plenty of fresh fruits. Curd and milk may be added to the diet after
some days. Tea, coffee, tinned or bottled foods, sugar
and white flour products should be avoided. Fresh
air, plenty of water and bathing twice daily are advised to have
a healthy, clean and dry skin. Personnel items such as hair care
things, towels and clothing should not be shared between individuals.
Suggested and Effective Home Remedies
Turmeric
– the juice of raw turmeric can be applied externally on
the affected parts. Simultaneous consumption of one teaspoon of
turmeric juice with an equal part of honey is advised to
have a good effect.
Lime – applied
salt to the inside part of a cut lime and scrub on the affected
area. Rinse the affected area with water and apply blue cream.
Application of coconut
oil to the ringworm affected area makes the skin soft.
A sunbath
in the morning at the first light of dawn has been found to be very
effective for ringworm patches.
Black walnut -
the hulls of this walnut are rich in tannins and a compound called
juglone that possess antimicrobial and antifungal activities. Hence
use of this might be an effective remedy.
Application of a slight
mudpack on the affected area for half an hour, twice daily
had also been shown to be a helpful choice for ringworm.
Any persistent infection
for more than two full weeks in spite of the above the effective
home remedies for ringworm or spread of the infection
to the toe nails, scalp, face or beard should be taken seriously.
A doctor’s consultation is advised at this point to have a cure
from the ringworm infection.
