Home Remedies for Ulcers

What is an Ulcer?
Ulcer is an erosion or open sore
on the surface of an organ or a tissue. Ulcers are common in the
stomach, duodenum or jejunum. The organism Helicobacter pylori and
the stomach acid irritate the sensitive lining of the intestine
and causes ulcers. In some cases, continuous use of anti-inflammatory
drugs has been shown to be cause. Ulcers sometime if left untreated
may erode the nearby blood vessels and cause internal seepage of
blood.

- Have a regular meal and avoid spicy
or oily foods should be the first step.
- Consume milk 2-3 times a day.
- Sufficient rest and sleep is a must.

Effective Home Remedies of Ulcer
Banana helps to neutralize the over
acidity of the gastric juices and hence reduces the irritation of
the ulcer. Hence in advanced cases it is suggested to have a diet
of two bananas with a glass of milk three to four times a day as ulcer home remedy.
Lime is also a perfect home remedy for ulcers since
the citric acid along with the minerals present in the juice favours
digestion
Boil 250g of cabbage in 500ml of water until
the water is reduced to half. Cool the water and take twice daily
as an effective home remedy for ulcers. This juice can also be taken along with
equal volume of carrot juice
Fenugreek can be used to make a tea which
when taken form a mucilaginous coating and helps in healing of the
ulcers.
A paste made with drumstick leaves (murungai
tree) can be mixed with half a cup of yoghurt and taken daily to
have a relief from ulcer.
Vegetable juices – carrot juice taken alone
or in combination with spinach juice or beet root juice or cucumber
juice is an effective home remedy for ulcer.
Blanched almonds can be used to prepare milk
in a blender which when consumed binds with excess of acid as well
as supplies high quality protein.
The inflammation associated with ulcers can
be reduced with peppermint but however, in some cases it may increase
acidity. Hence use it care.
The mucilage in the marshmallow is a good
soothing agent. Hence when used really help to heal the ulcers.
Consuming 30ml of pure castor oil with about
250 ml of lukewarm milk is a very good home remedy for ulcers.
No matter what ever the home remedy for ulcer you are trying up on, it is really a worth as they ease the pain
or even hasten the healing process. However, if your symptom does
not subside, or if the pain worsens and a person starts nauseating
it is advisable meet your health care provider and get tested for other conditions.
